Privacy policy

Who we are

Dr Sathish Harinarayanan, Consultant Clinical Oncologist, trading as SCORT Clinic, with private practice at Spire Southampton Hospital, Chalybeate Close, Southampton SO16 6UY. Contact: info@scortclinic.co.uk. The practice is the data controller for information you send through this website, WhatsApp, phone or email. Clinical records for your treatment are held by the hospital or treatment centre where you are seen, which is a separate data controller with its own policy.

What we collect and why

  • Enquiries. Your name, contact details and what you tell us about your situation, so we can reply and arrange an appointment. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and, for health information, the provision of health care.
  • WhatsApp and text messages. Messages you send to the practice number. WhatsApp is for arranging appointments; please do not send scans or medical records this way. Messages are processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms.
  • Referrals from clinicians. Referral letters and imaging are sent to the secretary and held with the clinical record at the treating hospital.
  • Website analytics. When enabled, anonymised page-view statistics (Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages are useful. No enquiry content is sent to analytics.

Who we share it with

The hospital or treatment centre where you are seen, your insurer where you are insured, your GP and referring clinician where you agree, and the practice's messaging and enquiry software provider, who processes data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted after twelve months. Records connected to your care are kept in line with NHS and private healthcare records retention guidance by the hospital that holds them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Write to info@scortclinic.co.uk.
